Here's the thing, Madonna (and all celebrities like her) is a walking spectacle. While people are willing to pay good money to watch this spectacle, they don't want to hear what a spectacle has to say about important issues. They really don't want to be told how to behave by a spectacle who has demonstrated a willingness to behave poorly (read: disgracefully)for the sole purpose of perpetuating their own celebrity...spectacle.
